Built to be relied on: inside the Fieldforce 20V range

A tool earns its place by working every time you pick it up. Here is what goes into the Fieldforce 20V hammer drill, jigsaw and angle grinder, and how to keep them working for years.

A tool earns its place in your kit one way: by working every time you pick it up. Not most of the time. Every time. That is the standard we hold the Fieldforce 20V range to, and it shapes every decision behind the hammer drill, the jigsaw and the angle grinder.

Power you can control

Raw power is easy to print on a box. Control is what gets the job done right. The Fieldforce 20V hammer drill has a two-speed motor, variable speed and 20 torque settings, so you can drive a small screw gently or switch to hammer mode and push through brick. It delivers up to 40 Nm of torque and 26,400 bpm, with a quick-stop brake that halts the chuck the moment you let go.

The Fieldforce 20V jigsaw works the same way: up to 2,700 strokes per minute, three pendulum settings plus a fine-cut mode, and a steel base plate that swivels up to 45° for mitre cuts. The Fieldforce 20V angle grinder runs a 4½" disc at up to 8,000 RPM for cutting and grinding steel.

One battery, more tools

The 20V lithium-ion battery in the jigsaw is the same battery that powers the Fieldforce hammer drill. One charged pack moves between tools, so a flat battery doesn't stop the job. Lithium-ion cells also hold their charge while the tool sits in the case, so it's ready when you are.

Built for rough handling

Job sites, truck beds and garage floors are hard on tools. Every Fieldforce power tool ships in a sturdy blow-moulded carry case, so it is protected in transit and has a home when the work is done. Grips are rubberised for a firm hold, the hammer drill's handle is designed to cut vibration, and built-in LED work lights mean you're not guessing in a dark corner.

Keep it working for years

Reliable tools last longest when they're looked after. Five habits make the biggest difference:

  • Store it in the case. It keeps out dust and moisture and stops knocks to the chuck and base plate.
  • Keep the vents clear. Blow out sawdust and grinding dust after heavy use so the motor stays cool.
  • Let the tool do the work. Pushing harder than the setting needs wears the motor and the bit. Change speed or torque instead.
  • Look after the battery. Top it up before long-term storage and keep it out of extreme heat or cold.
  • Check your bits and blades. A sharp bit or a fresh blade is safer and puts less strain on the tool.
